# Disbursement Overview

The Padiwise Disbursement API enables you to initiate payouts from your Monnify Wallet to any bank account in Nigeria.

**Rate limits are applied to sensitive endpoints (20 requests per minute).**

To make transfers using the Padiwise transfer APIs, you have to initiate a transfer. You can initiate single transfers by making a POST request to the Initiate Transfer (Single) API.

**How Transfers Work**

When a transfer request is initiated, it goes through a sequence of processes:

* Request validation
* Transfer creation
* Approval checks
* Queue transfer
* Await processor
